Integrative Sex and Relationship Therapy approaches psychological and sexual wellness by understanding the fragile interconnection between mind, body and spirit, often overlooked in the western model of psychology. My approach utilizes traditional counseling interventions when working with clients through the use of evidence based approaches while simultaneously educating clients about how lifestyle, diet and fitness can have a complimentary effect when combined with traditional talk therapy. With over 30 years of training and practice in the holistic arts, including yoga, herbalism and aromatherapy and ongoing training in sexual health and wellbeing, I bring a unique approach to individuals, couples and relationships beyond the dyad seeking support. Issues explored in Sex and Relationship Therapy
Sexual Identity and Gender Identity
Sexual Dysfunction
Alternate Sexual Lifestyle Choices (Open Marriage, Kink/BDSM)
Sexual Trauma
Infidelity
Out of Control Sexual Behaviors
Sex after/during chronic illness or permanent injury
What Sex Therapy is Not
Sex Therapists DO NOT engage in sexual acts or have any physical contact with their clients! We are licensed mental health counselors with additional training in sexuality and are bound to a strict ethical code. The therapist may assign homework where you may be asked to apply certain techniques at home with your partner. However, any sexual behavior is prohibited in the presence of the sex therapist. Additionally, any type of sexual harassment of the therapist is not tolerated and will result in therapeutic services being terminated and in some cases may result in legal action.
